KARACHI: Civil Society on Wednesday held a candle light vigil in the honor of late Sabeen Mahmud, a director of an NGO who was shot dead in Karachi on Friday.
On the occasion, members of the civil society opted for a unique way of registering their protest by beating drums.
The protesters said they were trying to draw the government’s attention and would continue their movement until the killers of Sabeen Mahmud are arrested.
Members of the civil society had gathered near Teen Talwar in Clifton. A senior police official said on Wednesday that Sabeen Mahmud was receiving threats from extremists.
